MACHINAL

For this project I made a poster for JCCC’s theatre department, more specifically the play Machinal. The director wanted a feel that showed how the main character was being eaten by the machine of work and everyday life, I took this more literal than others. I decided to go with collage so I could manipulate the metal bars in weird and experimental ways I wouldn’t be able to if I did digital. It also gave it a great texture.

THE PROCESS

I wanted to give a very scary striking vibe to my poster to make it pop. So I went with extreme colors and images with strong emotions. I originally went with a more rusty look, but after some revising with the director we took a different route. I included some of the photos of me making the collage and some of the original photos I used.
